THE GLOBAL HEART SYNC MOVEMENT

By participating in the 18-Day LaSeRR Challenge you have taken a significant step toward better health and wellness. This was not just a personal challenge to form a new healthy habit, it was also the beginning of your participation in a global movement to help spread awareness about coping, healing and prevention strategies for mental health. This movement is also intended to bring awareness to our interconnectedness through the synchronization of hearts around the globe.

Summary of the Research Studies:

Change your brain

In positive and measurable ways.

Mindfulness meditation has been shown to improve extinction learning. It has been demonstrated to increase connectivity in hippocampal circuits during the contextual retrieval of extinction memory following mindfulness training.

Overcome burnout

and reverse the aging process.

Yoga and meditation based lifestyle intervention significantly reduced the rate of cellular aging in an apparently healthy population.

Physician and nurse burnout can be ameliorated and wellness can be enhanced through meditation practices.

Olympic athletes

use HRV for peak performance training.

HRV BFB is an effective tool for improving
the psychophysiological function
and athletic performance.

Mindfulness

based therapy modulates and boosts your immune system

Mindfulness based therapy is an efficacious intervention to reduce clinical severity of patients with fibromyalgia.

Heart synchronization

between people facilitates positive and loving behaviour.

The occurrence of HRV synchronization between clusters of group members has been demonstrated and has been shown to be associated with positive emotional bonds between group members.

Heart Coherence

for Law Enforcement.

Law enforcement officers are able to significantly reduce their average heart rate, improving their ability to breathe in a controlled manner during their routine activities. This reduced heart rate reactivity and reveals improved police performance.

Your body emits energy

in the form of photons and these photons shift in energy level depending on your physiologic and energetic states.

Our bodies and all living cells (in plants, animals and humans) emit weak electromagnetic waves on a continuous basis. These biophoton emissions, which are in the near infra-red (NIR) and UV range of the spectrum, have been shown to correlate with the organism’s physiological state, including redox status and cell cycle.

Your Biophotons

affect your genetic expression and can kill cancer cells.

Through raising your energetic level (in this case via the practice of qigong), your biophotons can shift the expression of 39 genes in small-cell lung cancer line NCI-82, inducing apoptosis (aka cell death) of cancer cells while repressing their proliferation, metastasis and glucose metabolism.

Feeling connected

is essential for good health and well being.

Feeling connected within a community and the quality of those connections have a profound influence on health and longevity. One fascinating case in point is documented in a famous study entitled The Roseto Effect: A 50-Year Comparison of Mortality Rates.

Compassion

reduces pain!

Feeling connected to someone and receiving compassion affects your perception of physical pain. Patients who received a special consultation with an anaesthesiologist prior to surgery, who provided a meaningful and compassionate connection with the patient, experienced a 50 percent lower requirement for opiate medications following the surgery.

Patients who received a special consultation with an anaesthesiologist prior to surgery, who provided a meaningful and compassionate connection with the patient, experienced a 50 percent lower requirement for opiate medications following the surgery.

And patients who received compassionate intervention prior to surgery also had 50 percent lower pain score ratings compared to a control group without compassionate care.

Compassion

promotes healing from trauma.

Patients who reported their physician as having high compassion, reported recovery from level 1 trauma (highest acuity of trauma) at a rate of 4 times greater, compared to patients who did not rate their physician as having high compassion.

Mindfulness Meditation

accelerates your ability to heal.

Mindfulness meditation practices and guided imagery in combination with simultaneous phototherapy or photochemotherapy treatments facilitates skin clearing (healing) for people with moderate to severe psoriasis, four times faster than people who just received the standard of care light treatment.

Heart Rate Variability

IS A STRONG PREDICTOR OF YOUR HEALTH AND FUTURE WELL-BEING.

Age-adjusted HRV that is low has been confirmed as a strong, independent predictor of future health problems in both healthy people and in patients with known coronary artery disease and this correlates with all-cause mortality.

With regular coherence practice

your capacity to become more compassionate
for yourself and others increases.

Increases in vagally mediated HRV induced by Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation over the left temporal lobe, topographically close to the left insular cortex, was associated with increases in soothing positive affect: a feeling of perceived safeness and warmth which has been considered the emotional underpinning of a compassionate motivation.

The heart-brain

has the capacity to store memories independent of the head-brain, and demonstrates neuroplastic qualities.

Paul Pearsall’s work identified specific cases in which cardiac transplant recipients took on the memories and habits of their organ donors. One such case involved an eight year-old recipient, who, through newly acquired memories, helped police convict the murderer of the child’s heart she received. Researchers have suggested that cellular memory in the heart, and possibly systemic memory, is plausible.

Mindfulness Practice

LEADS TO INCREASE IN REGIONAL BRAIN GRAY MATTER DENSITY

Participation in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), is associated with changes in gray matter concentration in brain regions involved in learning and memory processes, emotion regulation, self-referential processing, and perspective taking.

Reversing

Cellular Aging.

Zen meditation, Length of Telomeres, and the Role of Experiential Avoidance and Compassion: Expert meditators were found to have significantly longer Mean Telomere Lengths (MTL) as well as lower percentages of short telomeres in their cells than the nonmeditator comparison group. A person’s mindfulness score is a better predictor of disability from anxiety than using anxiety symptoms as a predictor. This suggests that mindfulness can help protect against the feeling of being disabled by an anxiety disorder. There is also a relationship found between longer telomere length in those meditators who didn’t avoid negative emotions, but rather found a sense of acceptance with their emotions

Meditation and Telomere Length:

a Meta-analysis:

Participants in meditation conditions have longer telomeres than participants in comparison conditions, and a greater number of hours of meditation is associated with a greater impact on telomere biology. Meditation-based interventions may prevent telomere attrition or increase telomere length.

Effects of Mindfulness Meditation

on Serum Cortisol of Medical Students:

Mindfulness meditation lowers the cortisol levels in the blood suggesting that it can lower stress and may decrease the risk of diseases that arise from stress such as psychiatric disorder, peptic ulcer and migraine.
